Our Board of Directors brings together seasoned leaders from law, finance, investment, and nonprofit sectors who are deeply invested in advancing philanthropy across Canada. Guided by integrity and expertise, they help shape strategic vision, ensure accountability, and steward our mission to empower generosity and impact.
Brent Babcock
Brent brings over 25 years of business and financial experience to the Canada Gives’ Board. He has worked at senior levels with a national independent insurance and investment company, a boutique insurance and financial planning firm as well as his own financial consulting firm. Brent is currently on a commercial mortgage finance team that sources capital for real estate projects across the country. Brent serves on multiple not for profit boards, is married with two children and six grandchildren. Impacting those he meets for eternity is his personal mission statement.
Larry Levine
Larry J. Levine, Q.C. is a specialist in civil litigation and a practicing lawyer since 1972. He is presently a senior partner with a law firm that he established in 1990. He actively represents clients in the Superior Court of Justice on a regular basis and was successful counsel on a leading case in the Supreme Court of Canada on the enforcement of foreign judgments in this country. Larry is an active fundraiser, volunteer and Board member of several charitable organizations.
Heather Sergeant, CFA
Heather brings 15 years of institutional investment management experience, working with major financial firms. She is currently a Managing Director at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. Heather is a subject matter expert in the structuring of investment funds, mature hedge fund investment opportunities, arbitrage strategies, and derivatives. We welcome her collaborative nature and industry insights.
Daryl Sider
Daryl joined the Board of Canada Gives in December 2015. Daryl is married with a son and has extensive professional experience with both the audit and tax divisions of one of the Big Four accounting firms. In 2017, he took on a position as a Senior Director, Tax Planning, for one of the major banks. He is well respected by his peers and friends alike. In addition, Daryl brings valuable professional experience and the highest levels of integrity to our board.
Paul Williams
Paul Williams currently advises financial services companies on their communications strategies. Previously a Rogers VP, Williams headed the financial publishing unit serving >80,000 investment professionals. In addition to advisor.ca, Williams worked on a number of online, event and magazine launches. His work has received numerous awards in both Canada and the U.S.. In May 2016, Williams was inducted into the CPBI Hall of Fame. He is currently a member of several Not-for Profit Boards.
