What are the benefits?

Once you open a donor advised fund at Canada Gives it becomes a new family foundation, and Canada Gives acts as your host administrator. You can then easily transfer the assets and continue to fund charities while you close down your private foundation
Canada Gives will report to you quarterly, process new donations and provide tax receipts, manage the disbursement quota obligations, monitor investment managers, distribute grants and track receipts
You decide how much to grant each year, select the charities to receive grants, and spend more time focusing on your charities of choice
We accommodate any outstanding or future pledges
You can continue to work with your own trusted advisors to manage the assets and obtain tax and estate planning support
